Jackson opposes ministerial plans on court costs

The second and possibly the final phase of the review, is expected in December.
Ministers are hoping to make civil litigation self-funding but Jackson says this is wrong in principle.

Although there may be legitimate objections to making civil litigation “self-funding” in terms of court fees, this amounts to a very small proportion of general litigation legal costs. It has no real impact on the willingness of people to bring claims.
