COOKIES

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files which identify the user to the web site. They are written to your computer when you visit a site and are then used to tell the web site that you have returned.

What does sixthform.info use cookies for?

This web site uses cookies for just two things:

  1. Statistics - this tells us, for example, how often users visit the site, the browser they are using and, in some cases, the educational institution that visits the site

  2. Password - some areas are password protected. They may contain information only relevant to our students or staff. These password cookies are usually erased when logging out of a password protected site unless you ask your computer to remember the passwords.

Do you pass on the information from cookies to anyone else?

Absolutely not! Statistical information is only released publically in very general form such as a hit counter on a page or the overall statistics available here

We never pass on any information to anyone outside the College and would never even consider selling information to others.

I don't like the cookies on your site. How do I stop you using them on my computer?

How you do this depends on the browser you are using. There is a very nice explanation of how to do so at NFBKids.ca and Cliposcope Software - How to turn off cookies
